This family session had been in the works for quite some time. We had been communicating for months on when we could get everyone together for a family session. As most of your know, coordinating everyone’s schedule can be super difficult. Especially for this family, one daughter in school, another in college, a son working and living out of state, and then add in Mom and Dad’s busy schedule and well, it is hard to find the perfect opportunity to schedule portraits. However, with lots of coordinating, persistence, and prioritizing they made it happen. The entire family was together for a wedding and Mom was not going to let this rare opportunity of them all being together pass by without scheduling family portraits. Bright and early, the day after the wedding, we all met up and we made it happen. At least once a year, make it happen. Find a photographer that compliments your style & vision(there are tons out there), clear your schedule, book a session, and invest in your family. I promise, it will be well worth it. Portraits are memories captured in action and you will have them to cherish forever.

Earlier this Summer my family and I headed to Rockport to enjoy some fun in the sun with our good friends and celebrate adorable J’s 3rd birthday. Sarah had booked a family beach session with me, but was hesitant to proceed with the session because she didn’t want me to feel like I was “working,” while we were visiting. This is the beauty of doing something that I truly love, it really never feels like work. Don’t get me wrong, the is a lot of work that goes into each and every session, but when you are doing something you love, it just feels different. Therefore, I insisted that we proceed with the session since she had booked it months ago and I’m so glad that we did….

I have known this family for years and I was beyond thrilled when they contacted me to do some newborn portraits for their 3rd little blessing. Baby D was an absolute charmer and I just fell in love with him and his older siblings. Big brother and big sister were so much help during the session and I teased Mom and Dad that I found some new assistants and just might take them home with me. Here are a few of my favs from our session. As you can see, this little guy is loved, loved,loved. Welcome to the world precious baby boy.

I was so excited when Mom scheduled a “Western/ Texan” themed family session with me. They just recently celebrated a “Western” birthday party for the kids, so wardrobe and boots were all ready to go. I knew exactly where I was going to take them for their session and I so was giddy because the location was so perfect. The Old Settlers Association provided the perfect setting for our boot scootin fun. We also got to play in the bluebonnets because our location was right next to a huge field in the park. There were so many things I loved about this session. I loved the giggles, I love that Dad sported a pair of boots to match the family, and I loved watching this adorable family rock their session “Western” style. Here are a few of my favorites from our fun “Western” morning.

Last week I spent a fun evening with the Moore family in the bluebonnets and I just have to brag on their boys. They did awesome!!! They were incredible listeners, followed my every direction, and displayed the best manners. Two thumbs up!! While I was photographing this family, I could just see the fun, love, and happiness they share. Some of our long time dear friends just welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world and we are beyond thrilled for them. He came into the world a few weeks early, had a short stay in the NICU, and is now doing fantastic and enjoying the wonderful comforts of home. I was over the moon last week when they had me come out for his newborn session. I spent the most relaxed morning with them. I just played and did my thing as they did theirs and went about their morning routine. Little J is a newborn pro. Ya know, he’s got this gig down. He eats, sleeps, and well you know how the rest of the saying goes. Big Sister J was such a huge help. She is an incredible listener and she made an awesome little assistant for me and Mom. She is definitely proud of her new Baby Brother and was willing to help us out. I loved having her so involved. What a fun, fun, fun morning!! Congratulations Aaron and Sarah!!! You have a beautiful and blessed family!!

P.S. note to self…do not drink the water. There are lots of babies going around:-)

Last week I headed north to meet up with a long time family friend. Actually, Andrea is my sister’s best friend from high school and over the years, I’ve essentially seen her grow up. She became a successful architect, married an incredible guy, and become an amazing Mom to an absolutely beautiful little girl that is truly a miracle. These portraits have been in the works a long time and we decided to go ahead and take advantage of the warmer weather for their session. Despite the crazy wind and I do mean crazy wind, you know the kind that is kicking up dust and blowing hair everywhere, we had the most incredible morning together. They are such a beautiful family and Ry is one loved little girl.

My good friends just welcomed their 3rd little princess into the world and I had the honor of capturing their new life together as a family of 5. O f course I had to do the play on their last name for my title post, since this beautiful new little addition now makes them a gorgeous family of 5. I’m sure I am not the only one who will be referring to them as Maroon 5:-) I spent the most incredible morning with them last week and I loved every minute of it. Life is such a miracle, especially when you just stop and look into the eyes of a newborn. So pure and so perfect in every way. Thank you John and Jenn for giving me a little glimpse inside your new little world. It really took me back to the day when Koko arrived and we became a family of 5. It was such a blessing to be able to capture your new life in motion. Congratulations, I am beyond thrilled on your newest arrival and your new life as a family of 5. You guys have truly been blessed.
