Sarah had booked a family beach session with me, but was hesitant to proceed with the session because she didn’t want me to feel like I was “working,”  while we were visiting.  This is the beauty of doing something that I truly love, it really  never feels like work.  Don’t get me wrong, the is a lot of work that goes into each and every session, but when you are doing something you love, it just feels different.   Therefore, I insisted that we proceed with the session since she had booked it months ago and I’m so glad that we did….

Thompson Photography http://cthompsonphotogblog.com/?p=1711 Continue reading →]]> This session was almost a no go.  As I was getting ready for this session, out of no where came rain clouds.  Now considering we have been in drought mode for sometime now, I could not believe my eyes and was totally caught off guard.  The showers only lasted about 10 mins and then the session was a go because the sun came back out.   We got just enough rain to wet the grass and leaves, which gave them a nice vibrant color because it washed away some of the dust.   So glad this session became a go.   These boys were a hoot, especially the oldest.  He was all about the camera and he posed and he posed and he posed and I successfully captured his fun loving personality.  And the little guy, well don’t those adorable curls and big brown eyes say it all, total sweetness.

Thompson Photography http://cthompsonphotogblog.com/?p=1500 Continue reading →]]> Last Monday, I was treated to an incredible performance by Arts Avenue For Kids.    Arts Avenue is a wonderful Christian theater, dance, and music studio for kids.  This year they presented God and Country and it honored our soldiers and veterans.  This performance was absolutely moving and I got chills numerous times while photographing this spectacular event.  This performance featured students of all ages and each student shine.   Great job Vicki, your studio put on a stellar performance and I feel so incredibly honored to have captured this moving performance.  Here’s a preview from the night.

Thompson Photography http://cthompsonphotogblog.com/?p=1470 Continue reading →]]> I met up with the Day kids for an evening of clicking and frolicking in the bluebonnets.  These kids are always such a treat to photograph and all I can say are eyes, eyes, eyes.  Seriously, don’t they both have the most gorgeous eyes?    I loved watching them run and play and  my  favorite part of the night was when big brother found a lady bug.  They were both so intrigued by it and  I just smiled and thought to my self that even the tiniest of creatures are beyond  incredibly beautiful  in the hands of a child.

I was so excited when Mom scheduled a “Western/ Texan”  themed family session with me.   They just recently celebrated a “Western” birthday party for the kids, so wardrobe and boots were all ready to go.  I knew exactly where I was going to take them for their session and I so was giddy because the location was so perfect.    The Old Settlers Association provided the perfect setting for our boot scootin fun.  We also got to play in the bluebonnets because our location was right next to a huge field in the park.    There were so many things I loved about this session.  I loved the giggles, I love that Dad sported a pair of boots to match the family, and I loved watching this adorable family rock their session “Western” style.  Here are a few of my favorites from our fun “Western” morning.

Thompson Photography http://cthompsonphotogblog.com/?p=1399 Continue reading →]]> The Texas bluebonnets have arrived and in an attempt to change things up a bit this year for my family, I went for more of a different feel.   We’ve been doing pictures in the bluebonnets since the birth of our oldest and I wanted something different this year.  So, started out by welcoming the setting sun into our images.  I really dig the rich gold tone and the haze it produced.  It gives them a completely different look than in years past.  The only down side, the youngest K feel asleep in the car on the way to the field so she was not  really up for  a field with bluebonnets.    Here’s a few of my favorites from our fields of blue and gold.
